This was such a cute duck, standing on a rock just off the shoreline of Lake Bemidji at the waterfront. He looked so peaceful, so refreshed. And since we saw him at the tail end of our walk, we were hot and so not refreshed. We were jealous, really.
So today’s quote, from Laurie, is about that duck: "He looks like he’s doing yoga."
Our walk this afternoon was interesting, not dull at all! Which is surprising because we didn’t walk too long. We took a shorter route today, since I had stuff at the office I needed to attend to. But we saw so many interesting things!
For instance, we found the following pair of boots sitting atop a garbage can downtown:

They were left in what seemed to be their original box. We weren’t sure, though, if they were left there because their owner was giving them away, because he left them behind or simply because he couldn’t get the box to fit inside the garbage receptacle. (I think, though, both Laurie and I agreed that No. 1 seemed the most logical.) It’s kind of ironic, since I really want a pair of cowboy boots — but this was a larger pair of men’s boots and I don’t have large feet.
Then, less than 1 block south of the boots we found this:

So someone seems to have lost a section of their green hair. St. Patrick’s Day is long gone (or quite a ways off, depending on your point of view), so I don’t even have a guess as to its story. But it offered some interesting speculation for a little while.
Besides that, we walked a ways and then turned around and came back. Pretty uneventful.

Enjoy the sunshine!

P.S. Yesterday’s answer: The picture was taken from ground level looking up underneath the faux diamond that rotates outside of Ken K. Thompson’s Jewelry in downtown Bemidji.
